We still have a small sign, gold on black, in perfect calligraphy, executed by my friend Dick Thorne for one of our Chelsea exhibits. It reads: “Everyone has some shade in their gardens but rather than think of it as a problem we should look at it as an opportunity to grow some of the most exquisite plants on the planet.”
