Charging infrastructure implementation aside, perhaps the greatest challenge facing the uptake in EV technology is convenience. They may pollute and are relatively low-tech, yet, internal combustion engines still trump EVs when it comes to filling times. Even the most advanced systems take upwards of 30 minutes to charge an electric vehicle’s battery cells ... and that’s only if you’re at the front of the queue.
