mma Scaddan’s family bloodline runs thick with a history of agricultural farming. Word has it that even her great-grandmother used to supply the local florist. And while she’s always had gardens – favouring the romantic, manicured European and English style – it’s the intensive on-the-job learning and specialist knowledge from a supportive, close-knit community that have made Emma’s skills truly bloom since opening the Tamborine Mountain Flower Farm. “I’ve learned a lot by joining the local gardening club,” she says. “Talking to other growers on the mountain to get that local knowledge – it’s something you just can’t get online,” she adds.
