When students started walking out of their Sydney classrooms in 2018 to demand federal action on climate change, Jean Hinchliffe – then just 14 years old – was one of the young women who took to the stage to address them.
A group founder and lead national organiser within School Strike 4 Climate, the young actress has since become a spokesperson for the movement, regularly appearing in TV interviews, and speaking to more than 80,000 people at the 2019 Global Climate Strike, one of the largest protests in Australian history.
Jean volunteers with GetUp and was a passionate advocate for the ‘Vote Yes’ campaign for marriage equality. Her push for Australia to become fully carbon neutral has taken her to
