Judges battle for ConCourt seats

EIGHT shortlisted candidates who are contesting for two seats in the Constitutional Court were interviewed by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) this week.

The candidates are Judges Narandran Jody Kollapen, Dhaya Pillay, Bashier Vally, Fayeeza Kathree-Setiloane, Rammaka Steven Mathopo, David Nat Unterhalter, and Justice Mahube Betty Molemela. Advocate Alan Dodson was the only candidate who was not a sitting judge.

The shortlisted candidates for other judiciary positions in the Supreme Court of Appeal, the Labour Court, and the high courts of KwaZulu-Natal the Eastern Cape, Free State, Northern Cape, North West, Limpopo and the Western Cape, will be interviewed from April 14 to 23.
