OVERTRAINING SYNDROME

Overtraining syndrome (OTS) occurs in around 10 to 20 per cent of elite endurance athletes – and affects up to 65 per cent of long-distance cyclists at some point in their athletic career, sports scientists claim. Elite riders including Lachlan Morton and Joonas Henttala are among those who’ve fallen victim to OTS in the past.
