The number of vaccinations doled out since President Joe Biden took office in January has surpassed 150 million, with the vaccination rate rising to a weekly average of 3.1 million a day from one million at the start of his term, says Ken Thomas in The Wall Street Journal. Around 32% of the population has received at least one jab; 19% of the total population is now fully vaccinated, according to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention. “With the vaccination programme likely to reach critical mass within the next couple of months and the next round of fiscal stimulus providing a big boost, there is finally real light at the end of the tunnel,” says Paul Ashworth of Capital Economics.
