PRESCIENCE AND PERSEVERANCE
Prescient US science-fiction author Octavia E Butler, who died in 2006, has been honoured by NASA, who have named the touchdown site of Mars rover Perseverance after her.
Butler, the author of the two-volume Earthseed series, was the first African-American woman to win both Hugo and Nebula Awards.
