Safe and sound

Every car has a certain heated discussion point that divides opinion, cements opinion and lights up forums whenever someone mentions it. For the MGF it’s got to be tyres. The car was fitted with Goodyears from new: NCT-3s for the 15” wheels and F1s for the 16” option. While the performance range of tyres for the 16” wheels was never really a problem, the 15” was always a tricky one. The TF moved onto Continental Premium Contacts but it was the Toyo Proxes series that really gave enthusiasts a proper performance option for the 15” wheel. Many, like me, want to keep the standard wheels.
