ASK THE EXPERTS

Q I’m looking to install some plantation shutters to help control the light in my new kitchen extension. The windows are tall – what do you recommend? Sheryl Pearce, Mansfield

A Sam Tamlyn, General Manager at Shutterly Fabulous, has the following advice…

When considering shutters for the kitchen, full height and café-style designs with adjustable louvres are versatile options that will allow you to control sunlight. When the window is open, shutters allow air to circulate around the home while maintaining privacy – helpful during spring and summer. Shutters work well in the kitchen as they allow the light to stream in and, if any cooking splashes occur, they can simply be wiped clean.
