Get the most out of your canopy

Sooner or later during your ownership of a bakkie intended for leisure purposes, you’re going to consider a canopy. Maybe you want the dogs to be safe during trips to the beach or perhaps you need to transport some gear for your kid’s sports team.

But if you’re fond of the great outdoors, and your bakkie doubles as a base while you’re on holiday, you’ll want to invest in a canopy to make your camping and overlanding excursions a little easier.

We were lucky to have recently experienced a fully loaded canopy from one of the brands below for a full year on a long-term test vehicle. But, because our current long termer is an SUV, we miss the drawers, fridge/freezer, table and dust-proof ruggedness of our old canopy. Here’s some of what’s currently available on the market.
