Wendy Dio, metal queen and keeper of the Dio flame was right there through thick and thin as this exciting version of Black Sabbath was taking flight. Not yet the singer’s capable manager, she was along as his wife, forging a lifelong friendship with Geezer Butler’s wife, Gloria, and watching on as the delicate situation between manager Don Arden, his daughter Sharon Arden and Sabbath’s soon-to-be new manager Sandy Pearlman played itself out. Wendy (these days more renowned for her charity work) offered Goldmine a few reflections of those magic days in L.A.
