THE COMPLETE PACKAGE
Much as I love a nicely restored Volvo F10 or ERF B Series, I have to admit that, like I suspect most enthusiasts, whenever I see something slightly unusual in this day and age, I get just that little bit more excited.
So when I got word of a superbly resurrected DAF 2100 rigid that was literally on my doorstep, I had to go and find out more. DAFs are rare enough on the show scene. Those with the smaller F220 cab even more so. And rigids aren’t ten a penny at shows either. So this 2100 ticked a lot of boxes.
It’s owned by David Parkinson and in DP Packaging company colours. The lorry is kept safe, warm and dry undercover in a workshop near Spalding in the South Lincolnshire fens, and it’s there I met with David to get the low down on this fascinating four-wheeler, a vehicle that you took for granted in the 1980s yet now is as rare as hen’s molars…
