INVISBLE ILLNESS

When I was 13 years old, I had my whole life mapped out.

I was in the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, and I hoped to join the RAF fulltime after finishing my GCSEs.

‘I’m going to be a medic!’ I told my parents.

I pictured myself, dressed in camouflage, responding to medical emergencies and working as part of a crucial team to save lives.

But sadly, like many other aspirations, my dream of working for the RAF was crushed by my physical health.

Ever since I was born, I’ve had many health problems.
