I’ve a lot to THANK CANCER FOR

Finding out I had cancer, aged 34, nothing felt real or, indeed, fair. Before my diagnosis, I admit that my career was my life. I’d start early and finish late. A partner or children weren’t a concern right then – I’d have time in the future. I had friends, but with my working hours, I didn’t see them often. Then, cancer happened.

Instead of work, my life was hospital appointments, treatment and medication. Focusing on myself suddenly became my priority. I hadn’t been looking after myself, but life has a way of making you stop and realise
