Spring Recipes

“Last Christmas,” said George Michael, “I gave you my heart.” But that’s nothing, at the beginning of February I pretty much froze my balls off. So, you know, I win that round. But now, as I gaze out the window at the dreary grey drabness that seems to define our nation’s weather it is, at least, a balmy 17 degrees. Yes, Spring is getting ready to be sprung, our heating bills ready to go down (despite the bastards putting the prices up), our windows ready to open. And with the whiff of Spring in the air, comes an intrinsically linked sense of optimism and positivity: we’ll get out more, we’ll feel the sun on our skin again, we’ll get vaccinated! Things are going to be okay.

It’s also this time of year that many of us decide (yet again… Imagine eyerolling emoji here) to get fit. A large part of this will involve crowbarring ourselves out of the bum-grooves we’ve formed on our sofas, partly as
