A young mother’s 1982 murder solved? NIGHTMARE ON DEL RIO DRIVE

Growing up in the bucolic small town of Mount Clemens, Michigan, James Krauseneck and Cathleen Schlosser had everything going for them. At Mount Clemens High School a “bubbly, friendly, always smiling” Cathy was on the homecoming court and a “handsome, shy, pleasant” Jim was known around town in connection with the family’s successful business, Krauseneck Carpets. “Everyone walked to school and went home for lunch,” remembers neighbour Jean Rudolph. “Everybody went to church on Sunday. They had lovely families.”

Though Cathy and James weren’t a couple in high school, they began dating while attending Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo together and married in 1974 in their hometown church soon after graduation.
