Hay fever affects around 18 million of us in the UK. It’s caused by inhaling plant pollen, which causes inflammation of the nasal lining, and it can be miserable for those that suffer – an itchy, runny or blocked nose, sore eyes, sneezing and a cough. And while it’s often thought of as a summer affliction, it can actually start as early as March, depending on which type of pollen you’re allergic to.
