FLASHLIGHT ON PAINT HORSES

‘When a good friend of mine recommended Woodstock Paint Horses to me,’ Brooke begins. ‘I decided to give them a call to make arrangements to head over to have a look at their horses. I’d been on the lookout for a sound, easygoing horse, with a lovely temperament. After just a couple of visits to the stud, I found myself excitedly taking home the beautiful, black Tobiano mare, Woodstock Smokin Goddess! Maggie, as I call her, had everything I wanted in a horse and her stunning colour and markings were an eye-catching bonus.’
Maggie is Brooke’s first Paint horse, as well as her first young horse. While she has not had much of a chance to show her horse as yet, Brooke has set plans in place.
‘Maggie’s only just begun her career under saddle, but I want to do a lot with her in the future. Trail riding is always great, but when it comes to competition classes, I think that Mountain Trail and Working Equitation will suit her. I’d also like to try out some cattle work, Ranch Riding, and attend regular Horsemanship Clinics with Maggie. I love the versatility of Paint horses. They’re a breed you can see competing in almost every discipline, so I have faith that Maggie will be no different.’
