Izabella Dunne - Part 1 ‘Horses, Hell & a lot of Sass!’
‘Horses are in my blood.’ Sixteen year old Bella begins. ‘My grandfather was a horse trainer. My Mum, Pieta, grew up around horses. My love for the western world began in 2014, when Christine and Sarah Peters invited me to a Youth Camp through the Burpengary Western Performance Club, in Queensland.
Bella got to ride various horses at the camp, her favourite being the AQHA mare, Rosies Trouble Pride. Receiving lots of encouragement from Lenore Webb, by the end of the camp, Bella was riding off the lead.
‘In January, 2015,’ says Bella. ‘Bonita Silver Lady came to live with us. Scooby taught me well, over the 4 years I leased her, her biggest lessons being to have patience, kind hands and how to stay on! We had some heart-stopping moments! I also learned that prepping a grey horse is hard work!’
Bella was grateful to have the little pony in her life, and was excited to attend the 2015 Youth Camp at Caboolture, in Queensland.
‘I have a huge memory of working with the trainer, Lyn Hoffmann, who encouraged me so much at this camp. Lyn helped me to canter for the first time in my life, a very exciting moment, and one that has stayed with me. During the Youth Show there,
