It was pouring – dare I say, raining cats and dogs – the day my husband and I picked up our new Westie pup. Poppy was the tiny runt of the litter, and she shook and whimpered as her rural home faded in the rear-view mirror. I soothed her, curled up in my palms, as well as any new pet parent could. Fast forward four years and she still has both of us wrapped around her adorable little paw.
