Premier’s Sopa shows a disconnect with the realities of education in KZN

DURING his recent State of the Province Address (Sopa), Sihle Zikalala, the KwaZulu-Natal Premier, spoke about education in the province. Regrettably, he spoke about a teaching and learning environment which had little in common with the reality on the ground at many of KZN’s approximately 6200 schools. In so doing, he again showed a complete disconnect with the true picture of education in our province.

Predictably, the premier spoke about the so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution and producing skilled learners, particularly in coding and robotics.
