    Film reboot of the kiddie superhero television series (which was filmed for a time in New Zealand), which delivers an origin story about a squad of US high-schoolers acquiring special powers, colour-coded costumes and a mission to fight, y’know, evil. Bryan Cranston plays a galactic guardian and Elizabeth Banks is good fun as the supervillain, but by the inevitable big-bash ending, it’s turned into knock-off. (2017)
