POPPIES provide unrivalled cheer, flowering in splashes of bold colour through the summer border. Children love them, and adults never tire of them: their simple flower shape and joyous shades of scarlet, plum, pink and orange brighten their surrounds, as well as lighten our mood.
In the wild, they grow in iconic carpets of red that are breathtaking in early summer.
