5 EXPOSE THE HIGHLIGHTS

Modern cameras have incredibly large dynamic ranges, which means they are capable of capturing a larger range of tones between pure black and pure white. But even with, in some cases, around 12 stops of dynamic range, this still isn’t enough to capture detail throughout the scene in a single exposure.

Ways around this include using ND grad filters
