VEEPS ONLINE

he notoriously difficult and contrarian Seattle legends were never going to enter the livestream market by doing anything with a kitten superimposed over his hulking frame – and totally suits the Melvins general demeanour. The band still sound as harsh and bizarre as they did 30-odd years ago. We just could have done with a bit more music, rather than the endless, meandering interviews we are treated to between songs. Topics include the band predicting how much they could sell a sleeping bag they own that Kurt Cobain once urinated in and are fairly patiencetesting, although you get the feeling that they’re there for that exact reason. Melvins’ delight at antagonism clearly hasn’t dulled with age, at the end one disgruntled customer asks for a refund on the stream chat, the official Melvins response being “We already spent your $5 for a kick me sign for your back.” For Melvins, the customer isn’t always right.
