Time for a compromise?

Apart from being tied to the iPhone, the biggest limitation to the Apple Watch’s appeal is its price, a problem that’s long been addressed by keeping a discounted older model on sale. The Watch SE adds a new option in the middle.

It lacks the electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor introduced). If you want to keep your Watch connected when you’re not carrying your iPhone, the cellular version is only £50 extra, but you’ll also need an EE, O2 or Vodafone contract.
