OF ALL motorsport series, Formula E has perhaps been the hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic. Whereas traditional circuits can operate as ‘controlled environments’, allowing racing to go ahead behind closed doors with strict protocols in place, Formula E’s unique selling point of taking over major city centres for a weekend was left in tatters by the risks and realities of the global health crisis.
