Car industry lobbying to pull forward showroom opening

NEWS that car showrooms will have to remain shut until 12 April has met with huge disappointment from an industry desperate to re-open. The Government’s decision means that March, traditionally the busiest month of the year for new-car registrations, is likely to be one of the worst plate-change months on record; the new 21 plate is set to be introduced on 1 March.
