AS A KID, Sir Jackie Stewart was my hero. I’d beg a seat in front of a motorsport-mad neighbour’s TV whenever he was running videos of 1960s and ’70s racing and watch, rapt, as he threaded his car effortlessly round circuits such as Spa and Rouen. When I started collecting watches, aged nine, I knew that I wanted a Rolex one day. As a watch- and racing-obsessed brat, I’d never have imagined I’d finally get to talk to Sir Jackie about watches, his role as a Rolex Testimonee and racing.
