At home with Kurt Russell & Goldie Hawn ‘We’ve got a good thing going’

There’s a palpable chemistry between Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell as they sit next to each other at their home in LA. Even after 37 years together – the kind of long run rarely found in Hollywood – the couple are still as affectionate and playful as they were when they began dating while filming 1984’s Swing Shift. Just don’t expect some long-winded secret to their success. “You’ve just got to want to be together. I don’t think there’s any way other than do it. Right, Kurt?” says Hawn, 75. Russell responds, “I totally agree.”

Though they never wed, the two stars have created a tight-knit family together, raising their son, actor Wyatt Russell, as well as their children from previous marriages: Russell’s son Boston and Hawn’s kids, actors Kate and Oliver Hudson, who call Russell “Pa”. But they’ve rarely chosen to act together, and Hawn’s cameo as Mrs Claus to Russell’s Santa in Netflix’s 2018 film – they recently reprised their roles for the sequel to the holiday hit.
