NO GOING BACK

DIVORCE is always painful, no matter how amicable it may be and it’s safe to say there’s sorrow on both sides.

In the one corner is a proud and stoic matriarch, tiny in stature yet all-powerful, ruling her kingdom and her clan with a steely resolve.

And in the other is her grandson and his headstrong American wife, intent on making their way in the world but hoping to hang on to a few royal ties. But while Queen Elizabeth may give her loved ones some leeway to live their lives, she’s always made it clear: when you’re a member of the royal family, you can only do so much and no more.
