Needles

4mm straight needles and circular needle 80cm long 3.5mm straight needles Cable needle

Tension

22 sts by 28 rows over Stst on 4mm needles to 10cm 28 sts by 34 rows over Smocked Pattern from Chart on 3.5mm needles to 10cm

Special abbreviations

ssk – slip, slip, knit (dec): slip 2 sts knitwise one at a time, then k them tog through the back loops; W&T – (wrap and turn, used for short rows) work to specified point, transfer next st to Righthand needle, wrap yarn around it, transfer it back to Lefthand needle, bring yarn back to working position and turn work, ready to go back in the opposite direction. Wrap-6 – Transfer next 6 sts from Lefthand needle to cable needle, wind yarn once counterclockwise around sts
