Emily Watts Powers On

EMILY WATTS IS A 20-YEAR-OLD road and track cyclist currently racing for Kom Knights Racing. She is also a full-time university student in her second year of studying a Bachelor of Education (Health and Physical Education) at Sydney University.

Originally from regional NSW, she grew up playing a variety of sports, athletics, cross country, basketball and triathlon. In 2014, her Triathlon coach encouraged her to compete in some criteriums and road races with the local club. Emily enjoyed quick success, medalling at the Nationals Time Trial that year and commenced to combine Triathlon with road and track racing.

In 2017, Emily made the decision to focus purely on cycling. We recently had the pleasure of speaking with the aspiring pro rider, and started by asking about her recovery after a serious training crash.
