THE KIGASS SYSTEM

Most people that I know are aware of the ‘Kigass thingy’ on the dashboard of a TE-F20 Ferguson tractor, but as most start their tractors in the summer months when it is warmer, they have never needed to use the Kigass system to aid the starting of the tractor in the depths of winter.

Kigass system overview

Basically, the Kigass system is used to pump a small quantity of fuel into the inlet manifold through a small jet. This impinges onto a heater coil that is given a 15 second preheat before the Kigass plunger is operated, thus pumping the fuel from its own separate tank under the bonnet.
