Machines that made history CASE 20-40

The Case company’s success story started in about 1842 in America when Jerome Increase Case began making threshing machines. Sales expanded rapidly, helped by his design improvements, and by the mid-1870s his company had become the world’s largest threshing machine manufacturer.

Development

The company’s official name was the J I Case Threshing Machine Co, but more products were developed, including steam engines, and by the mid-1890s Case was also the world’s biggest manufacturer of agricultural steam power.

Most of the leading steam engine manufacturers in Europe and the US appear to have taken little interest
