that's life!

Welcome!

just loved the fabulous pic of a large group of friends on their annual camping weekend, in our Your Life! section, over the page. Reader Melanie, from Cardiff, in NSW, says team, Jude has similar memories from when her sons, Myles and Billy, were young. ‘We used to go camping with another family with boys, and sometimes others as well,’ said Jude. ’It was something we did most school holidays, pitching our tents at campsites near beaches. We spent hours at the beach, had talent shows, name the kookaburra competitions, played cards, cricket, and lots more. We took mountains of food to cook on open fires. And once the kids were tucked in each night in their own tents, the adults sat around the campfire and sipped red wine while looking at the stars – it was blissful.’ In January, my husband Simon and I took our four-year-old grandson, Harley, for his first camping trip. It was only a couple of days, but he loved it. And I was struck by how many families were enjoying each other’s company in big groups. I’d love to hear if you’ve been holidaying with the same people for a long time. And please do send us a pic!
