HEN people are passionate about something, it often gives rise to rumbling discontent. Since moving into the Editor’s saddle I have found that “but” is often used by way of qualification. “I’m keen on shooting, but…” Most suggestions are well meaning or jolly useful. Our passion for keeping the flame alight comes with the territory but can also set people at odds.
