STAR QUALITY

May I thank Henry Clark for the wonderful compliment he made in his letter [February issue], admiring the picture of my labrador on the front cover of the January issue. I am so glad she provided a distraction from his Waitrose shopping.

First featured in an article on the Courteenhall Estate shoot [December 2019 issue], Velvet comes from a distinguished lineage. She can also be seen promoting dog food in the September 2020 issue [page 73].

I am delighted that she is doing as well at expanding The Field’s readership as she is at picking up in the field.

We kept one of Velvet’s puppies, so we may yet produce another ‘star’. Out of interest, I attach a picture [below] of our potential new ‘star’, Rosie, Velvet’s now three-year-old puppy. The picture was taken at Studley Royal, North Yorkshire, two days before the November lockdown.
