How did your move to Manchester United in 2003 come about?

It was the most surprising thing that’s ever happened in my life. One day I received a call from United’s goalkeeping coach, who said they were keeping an eye on me. I couldn’t believe it – I was young and had just started playing for the MetroStars in MLS. Soon after, they put in an official transfer request for me. I was happier than a kid on Christmas Eve – it all happened so quickly.
