HAROLD DYER’S 1964 CAL LOOK BUG

Harold Dyer got hooked on Volkswagens in 1975, around the time hotVWs Magazine unveiled Jim Holmes/Greg Aron-son’s ’63 Ragtop, acknowledged as the first Cal Look Volkswagen. Growing up in Sounthern California, he had a neighbor named Jim Abdon, who lived around the corner and raced a Bug. Some readers who attended the OCIRera Bug-Ins might remember the vehicle, arguably the very first turbocharged VW race cars, called “Insanity”.
