Fantasy hunting
WHOEVER would have thought, at the end of last season, that we would still be living through such strange, difficult and extraordinary times? While in the big, Covid-19 scale of things, not being busy with hunting at this time of year is an irrelevance, it is still very frustrating. This hiatus does give one plenty of time to ponder, however, and thus “fantasy hunting” was born. To save any loyalty dilemmas, our subjects were not allowed to draw all the factors of the day from their own immediate pack, or people with whom they have worked.

HOUNDS: slightly cheating but it would have to be the Pytchley.
HUNTSMAN: I would have to go back to the 1920s and have Frank Freeman back at the helm with current Heythrop kennel-huntsman Lewis Chutter turning hounds to him.
FIELD MASTER: Grand National-winning jockey Dick Saunders, who could cross the country effortlessly and also command respect from a hard-riding field.
