SIMPSON SUPERMAN

Robert Cox is the owner/ operator of Next Adventure (NXTADV), a company that provides support to riders on their adventure rides by assisting in their planning and preparation, plus logistical support required during their trips. Coxy, as he is known, is a walking/talking Hema map who has crossed the Simpson Desert no less than 15 times.

He has intimate knowledge of what is required when embarking on such a journey, from bike preparation to how much water to carry. If you want to start your adventure riding career, Coxy is your man. That knowledge accumulation started in the Australian Army as a combat engineer and then an “engineer work diver” in the early 1990s.

His time as a diver saw him working for extended periods underwater at night or with zero visibility and he also trained extensively with explosives and underwater demolitions. When he left the army he started working as a geological technician, which involved him doing underwater seismic surveys using explosive charges along the east coast.
