BEFORE GOING ON to world domination with Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page was a go-to session guitarist during the mid Sixties, playing on records by artists as diverse as Marianne Faithfull, Petula Clark and Van Morrison. By the time he joined the Yardbirds alongside Jeff Beck in 1966, he was a well-known face on the music scene, eventually recruiting the future Zeppelin super-group lineup after the band disintegrated around him.
Page is associated with a variety of guitar tones, particularly when recording, but his best-known live rig is surely the ’59 Gibson
