The Oldenburg stallion by Argentinus was bred in Germany in 1994 by Peter Schutt, and Nick’s interest was sparked when he saw a video of the then six-year-old. David Broome turned him down for owner Lord Harris saying he was too young, but John Hales signed the cheque within five minutes
