Bingles Tell Story of Alaskan Settlers

Well before noted numismatist Maurice M. Gould’s Alaska’s Coinage Through the Years was published by Whitman Publishing in 1965, he contributed his first article to magazine on a form of Alaska money – the Alaska “bingle.” It was one of two stories in the March-April 1962 about 1930s tokens with interesting back stories.
