THE FIAT 128
Your article on the Fiat 128 reminded me of the 128 bakkie. It was a half-tonner based on the sedan but with front-wheel drive. Back then, front-wheel drive was not yet common. In fact, the only popular brands with front-driven wheels were Citroën and Mini. A bakkie with front-wheel drive was unheard of. Some thought this would never catch on but along came Fiat’s advertisement in the newspapers
