The most notable feature of the 2020 Formula One season is that there has been a season at all. Given the hesitant and perfunctory emergence of other international sports from the teeth of COVID-19, F1 came out firing on all cylinders in July and proceeded to stage more than enough Grands Prix to create a world championship. The only constant appeared to be Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes finishing on top yet again. The irony is the delayed start played a significant part in saving the season for the reigning champions.
