FIBRE IS A TYPE of carbohydrate found in plant-based foods (veggies, fruits, whole grains, nuts and seeds) that we can’t digest but provide food for our microbes so they can support us in all their myriad and marvellous ways. Special types of fibre that have an enhanced feeding effect on our beneficial gut microbes are called prebiotics.
