Materials
• 2.5m (2 ¾ yd) navy print fabric (Block 2 and binding)
• 2.5m (2 ¾ yd) white print fabric (Blocks 1, 2 and 3)
• 2m (2 ¼ yd) blue flower print fabric (Block 2)
• 1.7m (1 ⅞ yd) green print fabric (Blocks 1, 2 and 3)
• 1.7m (1 ⅞ yd) light green print fabric (Blocks 1, 2 and 3)
• 80cm (⅞ yd) mid blue print fabric (Blocks 1 and 3)
• 4.1m (4 ½ yd) backing fabric
• Batting at least 203cm (80in) square
• Fusible web
• Stranded embroidery floss to match applique fabrics
• Rotary cutter, ruler and mat
• Sewing machine with ¼ in foot
• General sewing supplies
Cutting
• • eight strips, 7in x width of fabric. Cross cut them to yield 46 squares, 7in (half-square triangle units — Block 2). If you’re fabric is less than 42in wide, you will need to cut 10 strips, not eight. The amount of fabric in the Materials list is sufficient to enable you to do this• eight strips, 2 ½ in x width of fabric (binding) • three strips, 13in x width of fabric. Cross cut• two strips, 3in x width of fabric. Cross cut them to yield 16 squares, 3in (Block 3)• one strip, 5in x width of fabric. Cross cut it to yield eight squares, 5in (half-square triangle units — Block 3• 12 strips, 2 ½ in x width of fabric. Cross cut them to yield 184 squares, 2 ½ in (Block 2)• seven strips, 1¼ in x width of fabric. Cross cut them to yield 16 rectangles, 1½ in x 5½ in; 16 rectangles, 1½ in x 4½ in; and 32 squares, 1½ in (Block 3)• one strip, 1in x width of fabric. Cross cut it to yield 16 squares, 1in (Block 3) • 10 strips, 4in x width of fabric. Cross cut them to yield 92 squares, 4in (Block 2)• one strip, 5in x width of fabric. Cross cut it to yield eight squares, 5in (Block 3) • five strips, 1½ in x width of fabric. Cross cut them to yield 32 rectangles, 1½ in x 5½ in (Block 3)
